Indonesia is the sixth-largest producer of tea worldwide. 

Tea plantations are located in mountain plateau more than 1500 meters above the sea level. The volcanic soil and the tropical climate are very supportive for the growth of the plants.   Indonesia produces primarily black tea although it also produces green tea as well.
